Newborn Session | Miss Elizabeth

It’s not a secret that I loooove newborn photography. The sweetness, the newness, the simplicity, the wonder, love and awe in the parents’ eyes…

It just makes me all gooey inside. πŸ™‚ I am honored to capture these fleeting, wonderful first days with a new little one.

Here is the first newborn of 2014… Meet Miss Elizabeth! She was all that I love in newborn sessions and more. I truly enjoyed the snuggles, the newborn squeaks and snorts, the HAIR (!!), and getting to know her precious mama Kara. Elizabeth is a beautiful gift to this new little family!

If you are expecting and would like to talk with me about a newborn session, please contact me (saragriffinphoto (at) consolidated (dot) net) during your second trimester if at all possible. I would love to work with you and your new little one when he/she arrives! I do tend to book up at least 2 months in advance, so contacting me early is beneficial so that we can ‘pencil in’ your due date as a placeholder on my calendar.

Please enjoy this sneak peek of sweet Elizabeth!DSC_7875edit2FB DSC_7880edit1FB DSC_7885edit1FB DSC_7908edit1FB DSC_7946edit1FB

Newborn Session | Miss Jenna

Though she be but little, she is fierce –William Shakespeare

Meet sweet Jenna, this week’s miracle baby!

Jenna was an incredible 5 1/2 weeks new for our session this week. Yes – 5 1/2 weeks! While most newborns I photograph are in the 5-10 day range, this precious babe was born early (she wasn’t due until November!), and had a ‘tour of duty’ in the NICU for her first 5 weeks of life. I am thrilled to say that Jenna is doing amazing now – gaining weight, eating, and sleeping like a champ! Her mom and dad are Over. The. Moon. for this tiny little lady, and are rejoicing in how God has blessed them all.

Enjoy this sweet sneak peek of Jenna (with some cameo appearances by Mom and Dad) in all of her 5 1/2 week old, 5 pound wonder…blog1 blog2 blog3 blog4 blog5 blog6 blog7

Newborn | Mr. Matthew {Katy, TX newborn photographer}

blog1 Meet Matthew!

This dapper little dude was 10 days new for our session. It was such a joy for me to spend time with this sweet boy — he’s my newest nephew!

He made me work pretty hard to get the images that we did, but that’s okay because it just meant more time for me to snuggle with him. πŸ™‚ There’s something about the way a baby smells and feels when they curl up right at your neck — it’s the best natural ‘high’ in the world. In a week when my youngest turned four years old, it made me quite nostalgic.

Newborn Session | Mr. Liam {Houston, TX newborn photographer}

Meet little Liam!

This nine-day-new sweet boy is definitely the apple of his parents’ eyes! He was a superstar model for me, and pretty much slept through the entire session. I so enjoyed photographing this little buddy! {I say that all the time…but newborns are just so amazingly precious and fun for me to work with!}

Enjoy!blog1 blog2 Gotta love the laid-back look, with a smirk to top it off! He knows who’s boss now… πŸ™‚ Mom and dad said that he loves to have his hands up by his head, so that’s what we went with for several shots. Love!blog3 blog4 blog5 blog6 blog7Congratulations, E Family, on your sweet new addition!!

Newborn Session | Miss Hattie {Katy, TX newborn photographer}

Meet this precious angel, Hattie Marie. She was exactly three weeks old on the day of our session, and was still so very tiny and dainty.

Hattie joined her mom, dad, and big brother Blaine through the incredible process of adoption almost two weeks ago. God placed her with amazing parents who have been hoping and praying for her and will love her like nobody’s business, and brother Blaine is already so caring and gentle with his little sister. I am so excited to watch her grow in this loving home!

There is so much more that I could say about Hattie and about her family, but it’s really just time for pictures. πŸ™‚ Please enjoy the tender sweetness of Hattie Marie…blog1 blog2 blog3 blog4 blog5 blog6

Newborn | Mr. Landon

blog1 Never, ever, doubt a mother’s intuition!

Lindsay contacted me early this year about doing a combo package of a maternity and a newborn session, and asked several questions about how I do maternity sessions (timing in the pregnancy). I told her that I prefer to shoot a maternity session when the mama is about 34-35 weeks along with a ‘singleton’ pregnancy, when the baby bump is quite visible but she’s hopefully not terribly uncomfortable just yet. She responded that she would like to have her maternity session shot earlier than that, as she just didn’t think waiting longer would be good for her due to various pregnancy-related issues, such as swelling and discomfort. So, we went ahead and met when she was around 31-32 weeks (you can see the sneak peek of their maternity session here), and had a great time.

Wouldn’t you know… Lindsay was admitted to the hospital just days later! Little Landon was just fine, but her body was d.o.n.e. with being pregnant. πŸ˜‰ She was under great care and on bed rest for a while in the hospital before delivering her sweet boy in mid-April — which leads us to his newborn session!

blog2 blog3 I adore watching new parents love on and admire their sweet new babes. What a joy and honor for me to witness! It’s that love that I strive to capture … those moments of being lost in awe, and filled with joy in seeing the newest little miracle in their lives. *swoon*blog4 blog5 blog6 This child had the best hair. Such a gorgeous boy!blog7 blog8Lindsay, I am so thankful for your intuitive spirit. I am glad that we were able to have both your maternity and newborn sessions! Thanks again for allowing me to capture such special moments in your family’s life. Many blessings to you, Luis, and little Landon!!

Newborn Session | Miss Maddalyn

blog1 Meet sweet Maddy! This precious girl was 12 days old the morning of our session, and was about as wide awake as I’ve ever seen a newborn. She was so content to just watch out the window, which allowed me to get some rare wide-eyed pleasant expressions. Isn’t she just beautiful?blog2 I love seeing parents love on their new little joys. Mandy and David are no exception — I loved seeing them interact with each other and care for their sweet girl. David is apparently the diaper-changing pro!Β blog3 Maddy did finally decide it was nap time, and that’s when the creative fun (for me) began. Tutus, hats, baskets, wraps, adorable baby… LOVE!Β blog4 blog5 blog6Congratulations again Mandy and David! Thank you for allowing me to invade your home and catch up with you guys. You have a gorgeous little girl, and I’m excited to watch her grow!

Newborn Session | Miss Blakely

Confession: This sneak peek is anything but a peek. πŸ™‚

You see, the mama, Beth, has been like a little sister for a looong time. We’ve gone on vacations together, shopped (and shopped and shopped) together, talked for hours, and shared so many of life’s experiences it’s not even funny. So it comes as no surprise that I would be willing to overshare some photos from a very special session I was able to do this week — Beth and Jared’s sweet newborn baby girl, Blakely Hart.

Blakely was six days old on the morning of our session, and she was everything a baby girl should be — adorable, snuggly, soft, sweet, and so yummy you can’t help but kiss her little head. Her mama and daddy are over the moon for this precious child!!

But why should I tell you about this? Let’s let the photos speak for themselves… πŸ™‚I love seeing a daddy love on his baby. Jared is so smitten with Blakely. Future boyfriends better beware…!

Family & Newborn Session | Asher’s Family

Families of five rock. Families of any size are awesome, really — but this family of five will truly bless your socks off.

Meet little Mr. Asher, the newest member of this precious family. He joins big sister Kaylea and (little) big sister Zoe to help dad out with the testosterone levels in the home. πŸ™‚ It will be mom who schools him on the basketball court, though!

We were able to work in a family and newborn session this weekend, between birthday parties and soccer games for the girls. This is one active family, and a new baby won’t slow them down much for very long! Mom has some great helpers with Kaylea and Zoe (and dad) — they were eager to shower love on their baby brother.

Little Asher — he is so tiny, and so very sweet! He is the spitting image of his daddy. I loved getting to snuggle this little man, and see his family! They are a special bunch.

M Family, you are loved! Thank you so much for allowing me to capture this sweet time in your family’s life.

Newborn Session | Miss Sophie

I have had some really special sessions lately, and this one is no exception!

Meet Miss Sophie Ann, my littlest second cousin. Yep, she is my cousin’s new little baby girl — and what a sweet little girl she is! I tagged along with Sophie’s Aunt Anne to visit her just outside of Dallas, so this also makes for my first “travelling” session. πŸ™‚

Sophie’s parents, Becky (my cousin) and Marvin, are so proud of their little pumpkin. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves…See? Isn’t she a darling little thing? In the last photo, she’s wearing her Granny’s ring that bears her birthstone, the sapphire. Sophie was born just one day before her Granny’s birthday, so they share a special birth month.

Becky and Marvin, thank you so much for allowing me to capture this moment in time for your family! Thanks also for letting me love and snuggle your little girl. She is way too sweet for words — but y’all know that already! Love you guys!
